Maggie

I wanted to let you all know that when I’m not sniffing around the interwebs, writing for my blog or reviewing great places and products, I like to lend a paw to worthy causes.

Last year I helped my crazy friend’s charity event of playing tennis for 40 hours for Help For Heroes. In fact I was his official ball dog and you can see I was awesome at it, if I do say so myself. This year he’s at it again and has upped the challenge and of course my duties of ball dog are once again needed.

He’s going to try and make a world record by playing the highest number of consecutive 3 set single tennis matches over 72 hours! Yup that’s right 72 hours of tennis, and he’s doing it for three great charities too!

He’s starting this epic event on the 2nd of June at 8 pm and will not put his racket down until 8pm Friday night. Mike will be playing local tennis players, celebrities and anyone who would love to raise a racket and support the challenge at The Wimbledon Club on Church Road, Wimbledon.

A Guinness world record attempt is the goal, but the real reason is to help support NSPCC, Tennis For Free, Royal Marsden national cancer charity and Elena Baltacha Foundation

About Mike

I thought I would let you here directly from Mikemike mitchell
Every year I do an event for charity. I believe being in my position allows me to unite a community to support charity events. In 2013, 22 of us did a sky dive for the Wimbledon Guild and raised £12,000 and in 2014 I completed a 40 hour tennis marathon and raised £5000 for Help for hero’s I took up tennis in July of 2013, after Andy’s win, and fell in love with playing. As I have met many local players I decided last year I would hold a tennis marathon, where I played for 40 hours straight with the Wimbledon community playing alongside me in singles and doubles. But this year I want to go one step further and try and break a world record. So I’ll be playing for 72 hours instead.
Pretty amazing and full woofs & wags!

After Party Madness

Wimbledon tennis marathon after party

After all the tennis and ball chasing, we’re going to have an After Party with a BBQ, Drinks from  Hemingways and music from Rakit! There is even going to be a auction and raffle prizes to help raise funds for the charity.
Why not come down and give a woofy cheer to help support Mike! Here’s the info about coming on down and seeing a world record in action. Yes you can even bring along your peeps! We’re all dog friendly here!
