Cornwall is just full of dog friendly places where you can eat, play and sleep. With its outstanding scenery of charming villages, coastal, woodland and rural places to explore and enjoy. You can make it a packed full getaway of doggy bliss and it’s the perfect place to escape to this summer.
Cornwall is brimming with dog friendly pubs, tea rooms, cafes, and restaurants too just waiting to greet both of you at the door.
My two day getaway was just packed full of dog wag n’ fun and I can’t wait to visit again soon. Check out some of my favourite spots and if you know more please let me know in the comments so I can sniff them out on my next trip.
A Day in Dog Friendly St. Ives, Cornwall
St Ives, which is known as the jewel of Cornwall’s crown.It’s a beautiful seaside town, set in breathtaking coastal scenery with lots of places to see and sniff. The town boasts two little dog beaches that you can run around on, but make sure you check the tide, due to they do disappear at high tide. After a little frolic at the beach you can paw along the streets and enjoy the shops, I was welcomed in all of them and found that some even had a treat for me.
We grabbed a Cornish pasty and sat on the sea wall, however if you prefer a more sit down affair, dogs are welcome on most of the cafes, pubs and restaurants’ outdoor seating areas, and in some places they allow dogs in the bar area or dining area. There is just too many to list, so I added some handy links that can help.
Also the other best part about St. Ives, is that you and your dog can grab one of the harbour tour boats to check out the seals! It’s perfect on a hot day, however if your dog gets car sick, you might want to skip boating. If that’s the case the path trails all around the bay could be a perfect treat for a walk as you view the stunning coastline.

When it comes to walkies, Cornwall has an abundance of choices. There are miles and miles of breathtaking paths and trails that you can explore with your dog. The best part is a lot the paths will lead you to a dog friendly beach or a seaside pub or cafe.
Some of the coastal walks are easy to navigate and not too close to the cliff edge, but there are other areas that hug the edge and can be a little scary, a curious dog might get a little too close to the edge. If that’s the case, best to keep them on a lead.

Boscastle is a Medieval picturesque fishing village, with a beautiful and natural harbour tucked away in the valley.
If you are not familiar, Boscastle suffered a devastating flash flood. An estimated 440 million gallons of water swept through the picturesque Cornish town on the 16th of August 2004, after heavy rainfall led to the bursting of banks and the convergence of three rivers.
Today Boscastle offers some amazing walks for every type of dog. When we were there we took a gentle stroll around the harbour, however there are longer routes that take in the coast and Valency Valley. And if you’re up for a challenge the stretch of the South West Coast Path stretching between Boscastle and Tintagel might be perfect for you and your active dog.
Eat
Yes it’s true, eating is always on my mind and there is nothing better than going out with my peep for dinner. In dog friendly Cornwall, regardless if you’re in a town, village or countryside, you’re sure to find a pub that will welcome your furry pal as much as they welcome you.
We dined at the Thomas Daniell in Truro, a beautiful and cozy gastro pub. The decor was an eclectic mix that gave you an old world charm feel. The staff was super friendly and happy to see me and my peeps. The food was amazing and the service was very attentive.

The UK is just full of history, and Cornwall has so much to see! Did you know that you can take your dog with you while you soak up the local history? We decided to visit Pendennis Castle which was built by Henry VIII, this historic and beautiful castle in Falmouth is fantastic to visit with your dog.
The grounds are lush to run around in, plus you can even go into the castle and fort areas to grab those historical shots with your pooch. The only place your dog is not allowed in was the cafe, however they did have outdoor seating where you could enjoy a bite to eat with your pooch.
